Dr. Sarah Scharf, DC

Founder & Chiropractor

Dr. Sarah Scharf, DC is the founder of Marin Joint Health, a Novato-based chiropractic practice built on a foundation of evidence-based spinal and kinetic chain assessment. Over 20 years, she has developed a protocol-driven clinical philosophy rooted in contemporary biomechanical science: that spinal and pelvic misalignment is the root cause of compensatory patterns throughout the lower extremity, and that restoring structural alignment restores function.

Spinal Integrity, Kinetic Chain Restoration

Dr. Scharf, DC’s approach begins with the spine and pelvis—the foundation of lower-extremity biomechanics. Misalignment here creates cascading compensation patterns through the hip, knee, ankle, and foot. Rather than treating knee pain in isolation, she evaluates and corrects the entire kinetic chain: spinal segments, pelvic alignment, hip mobility, foot mechanics, and gait control. Research demonstrates that this integrated assessment and treatment of the kinetic chain produces superior outcomes compared to localized joint treatment alone.

The 12-Week Knee Pain Relief Protocol: Multi-Modal Restoration

Dr. Scharf, DC’s signature program combines nine therapies working synergistically—chiropractic adjustments to restore spinal and extremity alignment, mechanical decompression therapy, Class 4 laser therapy, focused shockwave therapy, Trigenics® neuro-kinetic retraining, custom orthotics, home LED light therapy, anti-inflammatory nutrition guidance, and a progressive stretching and strengthening program. Weekly visits over 12 weeks, patients experience progressive pain reduction, restored mobility, and sustained functional recovery—without surgery or long-term medication reliance.

Precision, Integrity, and Patient Outcomes

Dr. Scharf, DC’s care philosophy centers on identifying and correcting the root biomechanical causes of dysfunction—spinal misalignment, pelvic instability, and kinetic chain breakdown—through structured restorative care and patient-centered education. Her clinical work serves a single, clear mission: restore spinal integrity and kinetic chain control so patients can move with confidence, function independently, and remain fully engaged in the activities they value. This approach is particularly effective for her target population: active adults ages 40–75 seeking non-surgical, conservative care.
